Acapulco Gold from Pacific Northwest Growers… a Golden Treat!

Thank you continued readers for stopping by each week as I update my blog with new reviews! With the support of my amazingly magnificent wife who finds new strains for me to try, my long time dream of writing this blog has finally become a reality- and I am so glad you’re here to enjoy it!

This week I am focusing on Acapulco Gold from Pacific Northwest Growers. Decades ago, Acapulco Gold was my father’s go-to strain. So of course, being a teenager, it was the strain I helped myself to and that I grew my love for cannabis with. I haven’t smoked it in years, so when my wife dropped this little package in front of me, I have to admit there was a bit more excitement than there typically is (and believe me, I’m a very excited guy when I have weed dropped in front of me!)

First, let me begin with the packaging. This little package is packaged TIGHT. There is no ripping the top open to get into the treasured Gold with this one… you will definitely need some scissors to get inside. Once inside though, you are met with a very faint light citrus smell. The weight was spot on at 1g (I really can’t tell you how much I appreciate that after many purchases that have ended up being under weight). The buds inside are trimmed beautifully- a few leaves were present but nothing that distracted from the overall beauty of the buds.

The THC total measures out at 25.2% with total cannabinoids at 30.0%. This strain does not give the typical high that one is used to with a high THC strain… the high is very different and hard to describe. Also hard to describe is the flavor. The flavor is very unique to anything else but very reminiscent to what I once knew- but better. The smoke is very smooth and very tasty.

I’m incredibly impressed that Pacific Northwest Growers was able to recreate a strain from my past that not only helped me relive a bit of nostalgia, but also competes with the new strains that are available today. Bravo Pacific Northwest Growers! I can’t wait for my wife to bring me more incredible strains from these growers!
