Grapefruit by Clandestine Gardens- It’s A VERY Tasty Treat!

Welcome back to the Marijuana Manifest! This week we have a VERY special treat for you! My wife in her infinite wisdom and impeccable weed selecting ability found a treasure that I couldn’t WAIT to share with you!

Grapefruit by Clandestine Gardens is a miracle in marijuana form and is the embodiment of its name. Before I get ahead of myself, let me begin by telling you about the packaging. Truly the first impression that one will get of the product, the packaging typically will give you a view of the product inside. It shows the logo, the THC and CBD content. At times, companies get creative with their packaging offering everything from shot glasses to glass containers with cork stoppers, to most common, envelopes with windows. While this package was the simple windowed envelope variety, the ease of opening the envelope was appreciated. It was well sealed, but not a struggle to get into. We were off to a good start.

Upon opening the packaging I was immediately taken back by a very distinguishable and recognizable smell of grapefruit. Honestly there was hardly a trace of marijuana in the fragrance- it was amazing. The buds were beautiful and were very well manicured and required hardly any cleanup. Now it was time for the real test- the taste and the high.

The taste was one word: Wowza!!! The taste was on par with the smell and tasted just like grapefruit! Sweet, tasty and tart- the taste was incredible! By my 2nd toke I was experiencing a good head change and by 4 tokes I was officially stoned. With a total THC of 20.72%, Grapefruit gave me a great high. Accompanied by the fantastic smell and taste, I have to say I highly recommend Grapefruit by Clandestine Gardens!

Big Daddy Kush… It Crushed This Big Daddy

Welcome again readers! This week I have the unfortunate obligation to share with you a negative review. These moments fall on me with a heavy heart- as a stoner it hurts to have to say anything negative about our precious buds- but from time to time it is necessary and as I said before- an obligation- to give fellow stoners a warning to steer clear of this particular brand.

Most often the weed I review is brought to me by my wife who has a remarkable ability to select a strain- often sight unseen- just by doing her research. Typically when I smoke something that I am disappointed in it was me who made the selection. This was the case with Big Daddy Kush by CMJ.

Purchased at my local house of bud Herbn Elements, I purchased a gram- mostly because of the name- but also because of the lower price.

At first glance through the packaging, the bud didn’t look too bad. The envelope was easy to open and as you know that is something I appreciate. It was when I flipped the package over I was surprised to see a sticker at the top of the package that listed pesticides that were used on the weed. I can honestly say I have never seen a label such as this on any other package. The pesticide Regalia is listed as a “biofungicide [that] stimulates the plant’s innate ability to fight diseases and delivers better yield and improved harvest quality.” (https://marronebioinnovations.com/ag-products/brand/regalia/) while Mantis is listed as “ Professional grade organic insecticide and miticide for organic cannabis growers and gardeners”(mantisec.com). Both are listed as organic so I’m not sure if either product had any responsibility in the quality of product that I experienced.

When I opened the package, I immediately held it to my nose to inhale the fresh aroma of a new weed. My nose was met with an empty void. Almost no smell existed- and that which did was not at all impressive.

I poured out the buds and could see that my eyes were deceived in the little plastic window of the package. Very obviously an outdoor grown product, the buds were very poorly manicured with what looked like only the outer leaves trimmed.

For nearly 10 minutes I cleaned up the buds- removing excess leaves and stems- and when I was finished the 1 gram I had purchased had become only .6 grams of smokable product.

By this time I was very disappointed and was praying for a miracle with the taste and the high to redeem this poor weed. I loaded a bowl, took a hit and for a moment- felt hope. The taste was smoother and it tasted much better than the smell hinted it would be. Strangely, as I lit the bowl, the bowl blackened but didn’t want to burn all the way through. Even so, I had to smoke the entire bowl before feeling the effects. Once the green of the bowl was gone however- it was no longer worth smoking.

Being an Indica with a total THC of 20.6%, I had thought Big Daddy would make this Big Daddy nice and mellow for the night. Also no. The high was a heavy head high, but not a strong overall high.

This was a very disappointing experience for this cannabis connoisseur. If it weren’t for my spectacular wife getting me another strain to smoke to forget the interaction of Big Daddy Kush I might have gone to bed not high and very upset.

Until next time my friends with a much happier post…

Blazin’ Amnesia by Trail Blazin’… You Might Get Amnesia, But You Definitely Won’t Forget These Guys!

Welcome back and Happy Valentine’s Day! This weeks post is something extremely special and I’m psyched to share the incredible find I discovered while procuring the marijuana my wife wanted to get me for Valentine’s Day. It’s my way of showing the love to my readers!

The brand is Trail Blazin’ and they deserve to be talked about before we get into their strain Blazin’ Amnesia. Trail Blazin’ does things a bit differently with 100% LED lighting, a medically sterile environment, hand trimmed buds, transparent test results and a process that does not dry the buds- but instead cures them for 30 days. All these things together make for an exceptional product that has no surprise won multiple awards from The Dope Cup and The Budtenders Cup just to name a couple. Their website is great too- filled with fantastic information, articles and beautiful illustrations of their prized cannabis. It is definitely worth checking out at http://trailblazin.net

I will say that all this exceptional hard work comes with a price tag, and I paid a lot more than I’m used to paying- but after I tried their product I have to admit- it was worth every penny!

I tried their strain, Blazin’ Amnesia. Described as “Superb, surrounded by it’s own nanocryptic matrix…” on their website (http://trailblazin.net), as well as “hyper and lemon lime, intense head high, and make moves on creative ideas”, their description is not wrong.

First, the packaging. Simple windowed envelope that showcased the gorgeous buds inside. Opening the envelope was very easy, and once it was open- the smell grabbed me. The luscious, sweet, tasty aroma was a roll-your-eyes-inside-your-head-and-shove-your-face-in-the-bag kind of fragrance. It was intense and absolutely magnificent.

I had purchased an 1/8th of this beautiful bud and it weighed perfectly when I weighed it. Each bud was meticulously trimmed and absolutely gorgeous- the diligent and time consuming work of a hand trim definitely stood out.

I loaded my bowl and took my first toke and was immediately amazed with what I tasted. The taste was in perfect harmony with the smell- sweet, and extremely tasty. Interestingly the taste lingered on my palate for quite awhile- an experience I haven’t had but must admit I greatly enjoyed. The smoke was incredibly smooth and very nice, and there were very high turpine levels. The head change was instant, and by the 3rd or 4th toke I was stoned. A lot. The bowl burned remarkably well and I was able to get a lot of tokes off of one bowl.

For a Sativa that has a total THC of 26% and a 30 day curing process, I cannot say enough exceptional things about this brand, this strain, this process and this product overall. Trail Blazin’ takes extreme pride in their work and their product and it shows. Do not let the price scare you away- I can assure you that you will not be disappointed in your purchase from Trail Blazin’!

Freddy’s Fuego Purple Lemon Haze- It’s FIRE!

For this episode of The Marijuana Manifest, we are focusing on our friend Freddy’s Fuego and their little number, Purple Lemon Haze.

Let me start this introduction by saying this weed made me happy. I get a lot of pleasure seeing people that take pride in their hard work, and the people at Freddy’s Fuego certainly do that. The buds were beautiful and very well manicured and were absolutely stunning visually so for that, I tip my hat to you Freddy’s Fuego.

Opening the package, I was greeted with a beautiful smell that was soon followed by a very nice taste. The hit was a bit harsh… not too bad, but it could be smoother. As an experienced cannabis connoisseur, I was caught off guard by its harshness after smelling the beautiful fragrance I was met with when I opened the package. But the high… let’s get to that, shall we?

With a total THC count of 25.5%, this little beauty was a one hit wonder with one toke providing me with a total head change. The sativa head high was very nice and went straight to my head and lasted for quite awhile. I’d say Freddy’s Fuego definitely brings the fire. This brand was found at a nice little spot my wife found in Ballard known as Herb’s House. It’s a nice little place with actual menus, knowledgeable staff and a very nice selection. If you’re in Seattle and in the Ballard area, I highly recommend checking them out.
